1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using TempClip (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
TempClip provides an anonymous, ephemeral clipboard that lets you share text and files across devices using short PINs. Clips are encrypted at rest on our servers and automatically destroyed according to the expiry and burn-on-read settings you choose. No account is required to use the core Service.
2.1 Ephemeral Nature
All clips are temporary by design. We do not guarantee the availability of any clip beyond its stated expiry, and clips configured for burn-on-read are irreversibly destroyed after their first retrieval. You are responsible for retaining your own copies of any content you wish to keep.
2.2 Access & Recovery
Clips are addressed by their share link and 6-digit PIN. If you lose both, an expired or burned clip is permanently unrecoverable. We do not provide a self-service way to restore a clip on your behalf.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to store, share, or transmit any content that:
- Violates any applicable law or regulation;
- Infringes the intellectual property rights of others;
- Contains malware, exploits, or is intended to harm any system or person;
- Distributes unsolicited bulk content or facilitates phishing;
- Contains child sexual abuse material, or content that is harassing, threatening, or promotes violence.
3.1 Moderation & Enforcement
Clip payloads are encrypted at rest, but TempClip retains the ability to decrypt them. We may access, review, and remove any clip that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, in response to an abuse report, or to comply with a valid legal request. We may also remove clips and restrict access without notice where required to protect the Service or others.
4. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Because clips are encrypted and short-lived, we collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every conceivable threat.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TempClip shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any loss of data resulting from the Service’s ephemeral design.
